US President Donald Trump is contemplating a military action to take nearly 1,000 pounds of uranium from Iran, the Wall Street Journal, citing US officials, reported.

The risks that the US military may face are being assessed, although it is believed that the action will not enormously prolong the duration of the war and can still allow the US to conclude the conflict by mid-April.

Trump is purportedly open to this military action as it can help achieve the goal of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, Trump also instructed advisors to pressure Iran to agree to hand over the materials as a condition for ending the war.
