The HSI opened down 228 points or 0.85% at 26,523. The HSCEI dropped 89 points or 0.9% to 9,440. The HSTECH slipped 90 points or 1.4% to 6,380. Among tech stocks, BABA-W (09988.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) opened 2.1-2.4% lower. TENCENT (00700.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) dipped 1-1.3%. Chip stock SMIC (00981.HK) slid 1.9%. Its peer HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) also edged 0.4% lower. In the pharma sector, WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK) offloaded WUXI XDC (02268.HK) shares once again for HKD2.346 billion cash. WUXI XDC inched down 0.6% to HKD77 at open. WUXI APPTEC and WUXI BIO (02269.HK) also lost 0.7% and 1.1%. As for automakers, GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) opened slipping 1.3% and 1.7%. XPENG-W (09868.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) receded 2.2% and 3%.
