Through the joint efforts of the government, regulators and the market, the stock market's robust performance brought additional stamp duty revenues, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Christopher Hui, said. He emphasized that the overall fiscal management will be reviewed comprehensively to ensure financial stability.

The new Policy Address outlines a series of measures aimed at enhancing equity market trading and overall competitiveness, including the T+1 settlement arrangement, which will have specific proposals next year, Hui added. The previously suggested 24-hour trading involves not only HKEX (00388.HK) but also the system arrangements of brokers.
