Hong Kong stocks opened higher in the morning session. The HSI opened 38 points or 0.1% higher at 26,583. The HSCEI opened 15 points or 0.2% higher at 9,472. The HSTECH opened 27 points or 0.4% higher at 6,298. For other techs, BABA-W (09988.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) inched up 0.3% and 0.1%, while TENCENT (00700.HK) and XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) added 0.8% and 1%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) slid 0.4%, while NTES-S (09999.HK) sagged 3.1%. Chip stocks continued to gain, with SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) leaping 2.3% and 1.6%. Eighteen automakers, including GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), attended the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM)'s exchange meeting to discuss topics such as trade-in policies and involution rectification. GEELY AUTO opened flat at $18.81, while BYD COMPANY faded 0.5% to $112.2. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) climbed 1.1%, while NIO-SW (09866.HK) and XPENG-W (09868.HK) jumped up 3.7% and 2%.
