The US District Court for the Western District of Texas ruled that Taiwanese TV box company, Unblock Tech, and its distributors violated copyrights of TENCENT (00700.HK)'s video content, and are liable for nearly US$85 million in compensation, according to Reuters.

The litigants, naming Tencent Penguin Film, Tencent Computer System and Tencent Technology, alleged that the defendants have improperly ripped, distributed and imported more than 1,500 of its shows, including sci-fi blockbuster “3 Body Problem” and family drama “Little Days”.
