The HSI opened 100 points or 0.5% higher at 21,958. The HSCEI opened 24 points or 0.3% higher at 8,082. The HSTECH opened 40 points or 0.8% higher at 5,321. Some techs chased laggards. BIDU-SW (09888.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) jumped 2.4-2.8%, while KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) climbed 2%. For other techs, BABA-W (09988.HK) gained 1.2% to $115.2, while TENCENT (00700.HK) ticked up 1.1% to $449. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) opened flat at $155.2, while JD-SW (09618.HK) lost 1.7%. SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) added 0.5% as it expected 2024 net profit to leap 1.4x-1.5x. Chip stock SMIC (00981.HK) lifted 2.2% to $49, while software stock KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK) ballooned 2%.
