Intel (INTC.US) escalated 7.2% to US$22.48 overnight (12th). Tristan Gerra, an analyst at R.W. Baird, issued a report saying that the Asian supply chain is discussing Intel spinning off its semiconductor fabrication unit and forming a joint venture with TSMC (TSM.US), according to foreign media. Under the proposal, TSMC would provide key semiconductor engineers and technical experts to help produce advanced 3nm and 2nm chips in the US, with federal subsidies from the CHIPS Act.
