According to foreign media, some HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) investors have issued an email statement saying they plan to raise an issue at today's (3 May) annual general meeting (AGM), asking the group to set a financing target for renewable energy and detailing how it will achieve its goal of reserving up to US$1 trillion in financing and investment for sustainable development projects.

Shareholders backing the statement include Royal London Asset Management, Axiom Alternative Investments and La Francaise Asset Management, which have more than US$890 billion in assets under management. ShareAction, a UK-based non-profit organisation, is coordinating the initiative.
