HK 3Q GDP Estimated to Grow by 3.8%, Higher than Expectations

According to the advance estimates, GDP increased by 3.8% in real terms in 3Q25 over a year earlier, beating market consensus of a 3% incline, compared with the increase of 3.1% in 2Q25, as announced by the Census and Statistics Department of Hong Kong (C&SD).

Analysed by major GDP component, private consumption expenditure rose by 2.1% in real terms in 3Q25 over a year earlier, compared with the increase of 1.9% in 2Q25.

Government consumption expenditure measured in national accounts terms recorded an increase of 1.6% in real terms in 3Q25 over a year earlier, compared with the increase of 2.5% in 2Q25.
